C-SPAN Quietly Drops C+PLUS Streaming Service

WASHINGTON, DC – In light of the failure of CNN+ to gain traction in the streaming news and information sector, C-SPAN has announced they they are abandoning plans for their C+PLUS streaming service. According to C-SPAN CEO Patrick Esser, the $29.99 per month streaming service delivered reruns of congressional hearings and State of the Union addresses straight to smart phones, televisions, and tablets, as well as original content including the John Boehner Hour and Election Watch with Chris Cillizza. Host network C-SPAN, which televises many proceedings of the United States federal government, reports that viewership fell far below expectations with under one paid subscriber using the service after four weeks.
