Democrats’ Dream Ticket is Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg

WASHINGTON, DC – It’s less than a year into Joe Biden’s first term and democrats are already buzzing about who will be his successor should he not seek a second term. For many democratic party insiders, all eyes are on Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.

“We’re talking two of the most beloved politicians in the Democratic Party,” said CNN political commentator Chris Godzilla. “Look at the demographics,” he continued. “We’re talking the first openly gay Vice President, and the first female President of color. That alone checks a lot of boxes. I don’t think we’ve seen as dynamic a ticket since Mondale and Ferraro or McCain and Sarah Palin.”

FiveThirtyEight.com’s Nate Silver, who correctly predicted President Obama’s victory in 2008, agrees that Harris and Buttigieg would make a strong team, telling BeetPress “between them, they earned 21 delegates in the 2020 Democratic Primary. They’re both immensely popular within certain factions of the party, and absent of any opposition, they could definitely sweep the 2024 primary and win the general election.”

Across Twitter, reactions have been mixed. “More like nightmare for the Democratic Party and the country,” tweeted @pitch4kdemocrat. Another user, @chidaboomer tweeted “a Jared Fogle – Martin Shkreli also would be more appealing than these 2 soulless strivers.” Many simply reacted with a gif of Team America’ Gary Johnston vomiting.

Even former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton agrees that a Harris and Buttigieg ticket would be unstoppable, saying “it’s about time America had a woman president, and I will do everything I can to make this a reality. I am ready to hit the campaign trail and eliminate any roadblocks on their path to victory. America is ready for the WAP – woman as president!”

As of press time, BeetPress has confirmed that Vice President Harris and Secretary Buttigieg’s favorability ratings have climbed to 42% and 39% respectively.
