LOS ANGELES, CA – The leader of the anti-facism movement Antifa has been revealed to be conservative commentator and editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire Ben Shapiro. The revelation comes after Shapiro created an Antifa recruiting site https://www.braverthanthetroops.org/ to recruit new members to the Antifa movement.
According to Shapiro’s website, Antifa is an anti-facist political movement in the United States compromising a diverse array of autonomous groups that aim to achieve their objectives through the use of both non-violent and violent direct action rather than policy reform. Although Antifa has been a loose association of like-minded individuals without leadership or an organizational structure, President Trump designated the movement as a terrorist organization in June. With the establishment of a website and a recruiting pitch, Antifa is becoming more organized with Shapiro at the helm, actively recruiting for a series of rallies expected to take place on November 3rd.
The news comes as a shock to many, including conservative commentator Sean Hannity, who told BeetPress “I’ve always known Ben to be a champion of the Right, so it’s shocking that he’s been living a secret double-life as a militant leftist.”
Although Shapiro doesn’t specifically identify himself as being the leader of Antifa in his website, source code reveals that the site is owned by Shapiro. The contact link directs to an email address firstname.lastname@example.org, suggesting that the site owner is also the Antifa leader.
“I’ve always thought Ben Shapiro was that weaseley little guy spouting off nonsense about leftists beating up old people and having no respect for law and order,” says self-proclaimed Antifa member Chad Darwin. “That’s why I’m surprised to find out that he’s actually the leader of Antifa. He’s always been so critical about our actions in Portland, so this is all really confusing.”
As of press time, Ben Shapiro has not responded to requests for comments.
